Dr.Rasa Milosavljevic is in charge of health of our dogs, and this is what he says about that.
The basic rule that we stick to is “better preventive than curative”. This simply means that limited number of people is allowed to be in the in direct contact with dogs in every stage of breeding, and putting the outside dogs in quarantine, before they can be bred altogether with domicile animals.
Pregnant females are under strict veterinarian supervision in the course of pregnancy. The supervision includes immunoprophylaxis, hematological and biochemical status, parasitological status, as well as bacteriological status of delivery passages just before delivery. Puerperium (after delivery period) is organized under a specific scheme and relates to the bacteriological status of milky glands, the duration of nursing, and nutrition of mothers.
Newborn puppies are in the system of strict isolation, and live with mother until they are 4month old. Following the scheme made for every hatch individually, puppies are undergone to immunoprophylaxis, the in accepted frames of immunity formation. Nutrition of rejected puppies is of the highest quality. Hematological and parasitological status is the first done in the first quarter of the first year of their life.
Growing puppies, young dogs and mature dogs are separated by categories with balanced nutrition for each category. Once a year, young and mature dogs undergo a complete veterinarian examination. Both hunting dogs and dogs under training undergo the vaccination twice a year. Females are vaccinated once a year.
The things mentioned, and may other things more resulted in a stable average of 5.5 puppies per hatch. Death rate in the first month of their life is 7%. In that period, only few animals are undergone to some therapeutic procedure.
To conclude, these results can be subscribed to intensive and professional work. I am personally satisfied when a dog reaches the exterior beauty, good shape and health, encircled with championship lent. I am proud to say that this success gives me the motivation for further breeding of these beautiful creatures.
