BRITTANYS ARE NOT OUR WHOLE LIVES
- BRITTANYS MAKE OUR LIVES WHOLE!

The story starts in 1978 when the first Brittany came in my life. This is not just a simple story about the breeding of one particular race, continuous tending towards improving it, but much more than that. First of all, this is a story about love and friendship, ups and downs, the story about the dearest creatures in this world, whose unselfish love, immanent enthusiasm and devotion make my life colored with brightest, most beautiful colors. These creatures enabled me to view the world form a new, previously unknown angle –more beautiful, honest, happy, unique one. This is exactly what makes me infinitely thankful to them. Furthermore, I am thankful for all the joys they gave me, for all the battles we fought together, for all our triumphs, but also defeats (sometimes deserved, but more often undeserved) we undergone.

These creatures, as I already mentioned, stepped in my life in the far 1978, with my first Brittany Nana (the daughter of champion of ex Yugoslavia named Vito Sa Sidra PEDIGREE). The hunting with Nana was something special, a real adventure. I had never felt such dedication, love and delight before. Nana did her first aport I marka when she was only four months old. She was an active hunter throughout thirteen hunting seasons. Nana passed away in her old age, leaving behind herself seven pappies – seven champions. Important to mention, Nana’s first and last copulation was done with Scott de Loc Envel.

My second dog, but the first champion (since Nana had not participated any competitions and exhibitions) was a female dog, Mel Vorn (PEDIGREE). Mel was a sister of Mabel Vorn and Mer Vorn. In my personal opinion, those three dogs were the best female Brittanies in the ex Yugoslavian region, and left behind many pappies, many champions (Bizo, Apolo, Ben…).

The rest of the story, with a happy beginning and sad ending, regards to the Legend, the Legend which leading role, and at the same time the leading role of whole this story, belongs to the son of Mel Vorn. It belongs black and white Brittany named Apolo. This is the dog with whom I made the first big success and soared to the very top of ex Yugoslav cynology.

Apolo (PEDIGREE) was the Brettany who won CACIT (title in work) when he was only 7 months old, by winning the international champion with a lot of CACITs, who had held the title for five years successively. He left everyone breathless, and walked into the Legend; the Legend was retold many times. Unfortunately, Apolo died in the accident during hunting when he was only two years old, with a title of the interchampion in work, leaving the great pain in the hearts of those who sincerely loved him,the pain that will never disappear. This tragic accident which I remember with immense sorrow is at the same time the thing that indicates the ending of my involvement in cynology. At this point, the story stops, but just for a moment…

Soon after the Apollo’s death, I got a priceless present from my great friend – Nebojsa Surbatovic. With a view to make up for my painful loss of Apolo, Nebojsa presented me with a male Brettany – Gold Vorn. I am still immensely thankful to my Nebojsa (he is the international FCI referee and at the same time the most deserving of the fact that Serbia is famous for Bretanies). Gold was the son of Mer Vorn and Armani de Loc Envel. He has lived and hunted with me for thirteen years, but had never been involved in competitions and exhibitions. The reason for that is the loss of Apolo which I simply could not get over.

The story of my involvement in cynology and breeding of Brettanies starts again at the point when the dog, which looks like my Apolo, comes in my life. I started with professional breeding of Brettanies by buying the highest quality dogs from Europe.

By continuous and devoted work on the improvement of this breed, I succeeded in maintaining the lines of a top-level breed. Whatever I have been doing, I have always had the same desire in my heart: the desire that Apolo will be born again.
